Qualifications

Bonjour,

If you'd like me to teach you how to speak better French, then you should know my background. From a very early age I have always been fascinated by languages and after good A' level results in French and German I studied European Business and Languages at university. I have always insisted on using my language skills in some way in my every day work and spent ten years in export sales and ten years in teaching.

As former head of French in a secondary school and through a wide range of teaching experiences I also really analysed and understood what all pupils find most difficult about learning French, in particular, and I have consistently used this feedback to become a highly effective teacher and coach.

I now enjoy teaching all members of the community from business people, students, young children, retired and semi retired people, in fact anyone who wants to learn and speak better French.

I now live in the beautiful Airedale Valley between Keighley and Skipton and am happily married with a son and husband who also get the languages vibe and love good food and travel. As the Czech proverb goes "If you know only one language, you live only once"... so thank you for taking the time to browse my web site and see how I can help you or a group of friends or colleagues to speak better French.

On the radio!

I was on a local radio show recently talking about teaching French in the community. You can listen to the podcast of the show by clicking 'play' below, or clicking on this link:

"The 8 lessons I arranged with Emma turned my schoolboy French into well – pronounced , well-received conversation and I gained confidence in speaking in a variety of situations. The lessons were lively , enjoyable and entertaining and were specifically tailored to my needs. I am more than happy to recommend Emma to anyone who wishes to learn or improve their spoken French." – Mike E.
